It's been a sombre day at Sandringham.

After his retirement in 2017, Prince Philip spent much of his time at the Norfolk estate, before heading to Windsor Castle for lockdown, when the covid pandemic hit.

The Royal Family has been a popular sight for the residents in the area, who would often turn out to see The Queen, accompanied by the Duke as they attended St Mary Magdalane's Church.

Today (9 April), those residents have been laying floral tributes to The Duke, following his death at Windsor Castle this morning, at the age of 99.

It's a sadness probably not felt at the estate since Her Majesty's father, King George VI, passed away at Sandringham in February 1952, changing The Queen's and The Duke's lives forever.
