Woman charged with shoplifting in King's Lynn

Thousands of pounds worth of products were stolen

A woman’s been charged with shoplifting in King’s Lynn.

It happened over a few days last month.

On 26 November, fragrance gift sets worth £768 were stolen from a store on Hardwick Retail Park and on 11 November there was an attempt to steal items to the value of £68 from a store on Hansa Road.

On 27 November, fragrance gift sets worth £768 were again stolen from a store on Hardwick Retail Park, while £388 of fragrance gift sets from a store on Broad Street and toys worth £347.20 from another store on Broad Street were also taken.

A woman in her 30s was arrested yesterday (5 December 2023) and taken into custody for questioning.

Melissa Hopkins, aged 39, from Washbay Road, Holbeach, Lincolnshire has now been charged with four counts of theft and one of attempted theft.

She's due to appear at King’s Lynn Magistrates Court on 25 January 2024, and, per her bail conditions, is not allowed to enter Norfolk until that date.
