RSPCA appeal for information after fox found poisoned near Norwich
Its just the latest in a series of suspicious poisonings and deaths in recent years
The RSPCA is appealing for information after a fox was found collapsed in a back garden near Norwich, after a suspected poisoning.
It was discovered in the Buxton Road area of Spixworth on December 26 and was taken to the RSPCA East Winch Wildlife Centre for urgent treatment.
The animal was given fluits and atibiotics and went on to make a full recovery, being released back into the wild on January 26.
It's one of a number of suspicious poisoning incidents in the area, with other foxes found dead in a nearby meadow.
RSPCA inspector David Allen said: “While we cannot be certain it is poison the fox was displaying behavioural signs of poisoning.
“What is suspicious and a concern for us is that the caller said that there have been other suspicious fox deaths in the nearby meadow area over the last couple of years.
“We are keen to speak to anyone with first hand knowledge of this so we can look into it further.
“It is illegal to poison foxes. If anyone finds a fox which they suspect has been poisoned they can report it to us on 0300 1234 999.”
