Road closure for surfacing works in Downham Market

It'll affect the A1122 Southern Bypass

Work will start either today (29 March) or soon after, to resurface the old worn out road surface on a section of the Downham Market A1122 Southern Bypass, from where it meets the roundabout with the A1122 Western Bypass, to where it meets the U23411 Sovereign Way.

Most of the work will take place overnight to help minimise disruption and it's expected to take five nights to complete, weather permitting.

While the work is underway, the road will be closed to allow the work to be carried out safely and swiftly.

This means that there will be no access to this section of the A1122 Southern Bypass between 7pm and 7.30am for five nights, however, the road will remain open as usual at all other times.

There will be access to businesses and properties within the closure at all times, which will be from the eastern end of the works. However, there may be some short delays.

Businesses will be open as usual, with fully signed diversions in place during the closures.

Funding for the work, which is expected to cost approximately £116,000.00, has come from the Department for Transport.
