The RNLI's rescued a woman who was cut-off by the tide in Wells-Next-The-Sea.

The service launched its boat around 2:15pm on Saturday 28th December following a 999 call from the woman, who told them she'd become cut-off by the incoming tide on Wells beach in foggy weather.

Despite poor visibility due to thick fog, the mission was successful, with the woman located by 2:19pm.

She was helped on board and transported back to land, needing no medical assistance, at 2:27pm.

Lifeboat Operation Manager Chris Hardy said; ‘This incident highlights the importance of being cautious in poor weather conditions, especially when the tide is rising.

"The RNLI urges everyone to check tide times and weather forecasts before heading out to the beach.’
