An local expert in international politics tells us the Ukraine war can only be ended by a redoubling of global efforts.
President Trump revealed last week that the US is sending new weapons to Ukraine. An announcement which saw the Kremlin bomb four Ukrainian cities in one night.
"If we don't bring those two countries into the conversation than this strategy or tactic is pretty irrelevant"
Dr Ra Mason works at the University of East Anglia:
"We talk about sanctions on Russia, how we they mostly being avoided? They are being avoided via informal and formal channels- via India and China.
So, if we don't bring those two countries into the conversation than this strategy or tactic is pretty irrelevant.
"There's countries out there that could independently broker a future peace deal or agreement.
"There's obviously Turkey, if you remember back to 2022 they came close to brokering a peace deal of a kind. But, this deal was rejected by then Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
