A rally against the on-going war in Ukraine is taking place in Norwich from midday, today.

It's been one year and a day since Russia invaded- and official statistics suggest around 14 million people have been displaced by the conflict.

"I hope there will be victory"

Natalia Scott has jointly organised the event. She's from Kyiv and now lives in Norwich.

She says it's been a very difficult year:

"We've seen horrible things. We saw lots of injustice and violation of international law. Russia has not just hit military zone, but have also targeted civilians.

"I look positively towards the future. I hope there will be victory for us. I believe that if all of our allies help us then we will win this war- together".

Ms Scott also told us that her daughter is still in the Ukrainian capital:

"I said to her, 'where are you?' and she said, 'I'm hiding in a hallway'. I know that's not really a safe place to hide, but the safest place in the apartment. But it is not the safest place because if the missile is strong enough and it hits the old building it will destroy it."

"I am afraid"

She says there's no time to get complacent, but she's confident that victory for Ukraine is very possible:

"We understand that Russia are bigger and much more powerful. They have more military ability than we do so obviously it's not a level playing-field, and therefore I am afraid. I understand the amount of bravery and motivation we have doesn't matter. We need weapons".
