Pumpkin show in Stoke Ferry

A spooky celebration

If you're near Stoke Ferry tonight, it might be worth popping down to see the village's Jack O'Lantern Lightshow.

The bells of All Saints Church will ring at 7pm tonight (31 October), and everyone with pumpkins in their gardens will light them in the darkness.

It's been organised by the Save the Blue Bell campaign - which is working to see the village's last pub open its doors again.

Sandra McNeill, ‘Save the Blue Bell ‘Campaign team member said:

"Our local community has expressed its overwhelming support for the Blue Bell to reopen as more than a pub. These past few months of lockdown and social restrictions have been exceptionally difficult for us all, but they have also shone a light on the incredible community spirit which exists in Stoke Ferry and our local villages.

"There are countless individuals, businesses and organisations who do so much, often quietly and unnoticed. We want the Blue Bell to build on this collective strength and be a warm and welcoming village hub with something for everyone. We are encouraging all households to take part in our Jack O’Lantern lightshow. It is a wonderful way to shine a thousand lights and give our local children a safe but special Halloween."
