Norwich has been ranked as the number one city for those who want to shop sustainably this Black Friday.

While it's also made the top ten for cities where people are likely grab a deal today.

Payal Hindocha, is from the engagement platform Emarsys who completed the research.

She explains why Norwich's scored so highly in both:

"There are really small boutique along with different shops and they have the latest fashion, vintage clothes and shoes. They also tend to be independent stores which aren't connected to any of the big retailers and typically these stores hand make some of their products and they are all sustainably and locally sourced".

"Black Friday is now something where people are looking to buy something that they actually want, rather than receiving mass-discounts on things they don't need and they'd probably buy for the sake of it".

She told us that she expects Norwich to retain these rankings moving forwards:

"People in Norwich like to shop locally and independently. So as a consumer if you can go into a store and have a great personalised customer experience with the store staff, why wouldn't you want an experience like that again and again".
