Norwich boss 'pleased' after 2-1 win over Millwall
The Canaries were forced to hold on for the last third of the game after Romain Esse's goal but managed to clinch the three points.
Head coach Johannes Hoff Thorup says he's pleased with his side's effort during the 2-1 win against Millwall at Carrow Road.
The Canaries were forced to hold on for the last third of the game after Romain Esse's goal but managed to clinch the three points.
"I think it was an excellent first half, really, really good," Hoff Thorup said.
"We had such a good flow, rhythm, creating a lot of chances, a lot of players involved in our attacking play which I really liked. I think we were solid, I think we were dominant, we didn't allow many chances so I was pleased with that.
"Then, in the second half, it probably tells the story of where we are as a team. We're still improving in some areas and we have to develop in some areas.
"One goal makes us a little bit anxious, a little bit nervous, the last 20 minutes of the game are not as we want them to be. It's important for the group of players and for us that we can hold on to that result and we can get the win."
The Dane pointed towards the youth of the squad and how important 'digging in' to secure a result will be for their development.
He'll be hoping for another positive result when QPR come to Carrow Road on Sunday.
"There will be some downs, we're playing with a really, really young team. It's probably one of the youngest for this club in many years, the line-up today had a lot of them. They are not that experienced yet but I think everyone can see the qualities," he explained.
"Especially what I mentioned in the first half, there was so much quality in the group and so many good performances. But still we have to learn how to deal with those moments in the game where we cannot control everything.
"It's maybe not the game picture that we want but we still need to be competitive. That's why I think the win was really important for the group, we had to defend and we had to really dig in towards the last 10/15 minutes of the game."
