Norwich City are welcoming defender Emmanuel Adegboyega.

They've signed the 19 year old from Irish side Drogheda United on a long-term deal.

The Dundalk-born player will initially form part of the club's development and academy setup.

Adegboyega featured regularly for Drogheda in the League of Ireland Premier Division during the 2023 season, making 22 appearances.

He signed his first professional deal with the Drogs earlier in the summer, having previously played for Dundalk at Under-19 level.

Discussing his move to Carrow Road, Adegboyega said: "I'm over the moon to sign for Norwich. It's always good when a big club like this approaches you.

"When you see people from the same country in the first-team, it makes that decision so much easier. Seeing what they're doing in the first-team, it was an easy decision.

"Playing senior football has helped me a lot. The physicality level changed from academy level to first-team level, it's obviously a big jump. But playing in the League of Ireland definitely helped me."

The transfer is subject to international clearance and approval from the regulatory governing bodies.
