Norwich City footballer banned from driving after drink-drive crash
Shane Duffy has also been ordered to pay over £25,000
Norwich City footballer, Shane Duffy has been banned from driving for three years, after admitting to a drink-drive charge, at Norwich Magistrates' Court.
The 32 year-old Irish international has also been ordered to pay over £25,000 following a two vehicle crash that took place in Hethersett in early May.
What happened?
Duffy was charged with driving whilst unfit through drink, on May 9th.
Police were called to Queens Road at 9.05pm on Monday 6th May to reports of a crash involving two vehicles.
No one was injured.
Emergency services attended the scene and Duffy was arrested on suspicion of drink driving.
The centre-back was taken to Wymondham Police Investigation Centre for questioning.
In May, Norwich City said via a statement:
"Norwich City Football Club is aware of an incident involving one of its first team players.
"The club is in the process of considering the matter internally in accordance with its own disciplinary procedure".
