A woman from Norfolk who travelled over 200 miles to Bridgemary in Gosport faces a fine for breaching lockdown rules.

Hampshire Police says two of their officers visited an address on Friday 22nd January and reported a female for summons.

The woman had travelled from Norfolk to visit her daughter and officers say as much as they totally understand people wanting to see their loved ones, the restrictions are in place for a reason.

The force added that their officers are no different in their frustration at not being able to see their family members.

It said the restrictions are there to protect the NHS and save lives, and that blatant breaches of the rules will not be tolerated and will be dealt with through enforcement.
