Norfolk enters Tier 4 restrictions
The Health Secretary has tightened the rules following a jump in cases
Norfolk has now entered Tier 4, after the Health Secretary tightened restrictions to curb the spread of Covid.
Some parts of the region were in the highest tier, but Norfolk, Suffolk and parts of Essex, which were in Tier 2, have now been upped.
The Health Secretary, Matt Hancock, said that the new variant of coronavirus found in the UK was spreading at a "dangerous rate".
MP for North Norfolk, Duncan Baker is supporting the new measures, saying they're necessary to protect the NHS.
He said:
"If you look at the case rate explosion in North Norfolk, it is only sensible that we go into Tier 4.
"That means hospitality remains shut, non-essential shops must clothes and personal care givers must close, and you can only meet two other people outside."
