A Norfolk MP tells us that putting in-place tougher laws for drivers with poor eyesight, will help save lives.

36 decision-makers are backing calls for the DVLA to be told about a person's sight-problem, which could affect their driving.

These MPs have written to the Transport Secretary, who's yet to respond.

"There are some really heartbreaking stories"

Ben Goldsborough represents South Norfolk:

"We are getting people who are staying on the road for longer than maybe is safe. When you combine people not adhering to common-sense road safety, plus those who aren't looking after themselves in-terms of their own health, it's a recipe for disaster.

"There are some really heartbreaking stories, where if only somebody had reporting themselves to the DVLA (Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency) about some underlying health conditions, like sight loss, then we could have prevented some fatalities.
