Norfolk MP: Key decisions on new power projects must be made locally
Nearly eight thousand acres of green-spaces near Swaffham would be used for High Grove Solar Farm- if it's formally approved by Government
An MP in the county tells us he wants decisions about renewable energy projects to be made by local people.
It's as approval of High Grove Solar Farm would see 7,500 acres of land be taken-up, between Castle Acre and Dereham.
The developer, RWE, is set to submit it's Development Consent Order in the winter.

"There must be some community benefit"
George Freeman represents Mid-Norfolk in Parliament:
"There must be some community benefit, here. Rural villages have been really hard-hit by the cost of energy increases and cost of living increases. Every single thing from a pen to a cup of coffee has got much more expensive.
"Therefore, it's not fair to ask these villages, which are being hammered, not to receive any benefit. Be that road improvements of something similar".
"There are eight of these projects that are being proposed across the country. Which seems that about 36 MPs are affected by this or have similar concerns.
"We've form a group together and we're going to be lobbying Government in the Autumn to try and get this changed, so that it's much fairer to the areas that are taking on national infrastructure".
What has the developer said to this?
RWE- says this project will provide enough power for over 360 thousands homes.
