An environmental campaigner in Norfolk is telling us the next Government must take urgent action to tackle what's being called a climate and nature emergency.

In just over a month's time, voters across the county will cast their vote in this General Election, with political parties announcing plans to tackle things like sewage and fly-tipping.

"There will also be huge risks on human health"

Sarah Eglington is from Norwich Friends of the Earth:

"If we don't take drastic action now, then we're looking at a very bleak picture. We risk losing more of rare, precious wildlife and our food security. In addition to being further on the backfoot when it comes to the issue driving this, climate change".

She says the situation is already becoming desperate:

"I know people here in Norfolk, who's household insurance premiums have risen by 300% this year, due to potential flood-risk. There will also be huge risks on human health, which the NHS won't be able to cope this. Issues that centre around air quality, health-stress and mental health".

Those wanting to vote will need to make sure their registered by the end of Tuesday the 18th of June.
