People here in Norfolk are booking their holidays earlier than before the Covid pandemic, according to one independent travel agent.

It comes as the Easter holidays are just around the corner.

There were fears the cost of living crisis would deter many from going away.

"We are now getting enquiries for summer 2024"

Vicky Samwell-Buckenham is the manager of Oyster Travel in Norwich.

She says the industry is adapting and thriving:

"We are still getting a lot of enquiries for summer this year and some of the larger operators have added additional free child places. They may have potentially done this to help with the cost of living crisis. We are still seeing a demand there, but people are booking earlier and we are now getting enquiries for summer 2024."

"They can utilise low deposit schemes"

She told us why people are now booking earlier:

"It's so people can really have the choice of holiday. So they are not limited to where they have got to go, or where they have to stay.

"They can utilise low deposit schemes, have that booked and have something to look forward to. Then they can pay it off month by month, if they want to".

"A lot of people that want to travel in the peak times, such as school holidays, are now booking earlier. We are finding that if we now want to travel over Easter, prices have generally jump and that's because a lot of people booked last year."
