One of Norfolk's conservation groups say they feel honoured and privileged to have had 70 years of support from the Queen.
But, the Norfolk Wildlife Trust remains confident that King Charles III will do a good job both for the country- but also for their cause and issues that worry, the group.
"We can all make steps forwards in valuing nature"
Eliot Lyne is the chief executive of the Norfolk Wildlife Trust.
"We felt hugely honoured to have that relationship with the Queen and I think it's hugely beneficial to have that patronage. It gave us the confidence about what we do, it gave us the possibility of raising more funds- we feel really honoured by that".
"Becoming King Charles has to step back from his environmental views. But we know that he has those views and he's been a hugely important voice in the last 20/30 years around environmental issues- so I'm confident that moving forwards the Monarchy, the Government and charities like us- we can all make steps forwards in valuing nature".
"I got a call from somebody saying 'have you seen the news?"
He recalled to us where he was last Thursday:
"I was at one of our reserves on the North Norfolk coast, with a group of our supporters and I was unaware of everything that was happening. I got a call from somebody saying 'have you seen the news? What you seen the news?' When we got back to Norwich that was when the news broke and I was really devastated by it".
