Norfolk charity warns voluntary groups will close if funding is reduced

A charity in Norfolk is warning that voluntary organisations will close this year - if funding they're given by the Government is reduced.
It follows a report, from a university and research group, which claims some charities could be evicted from council buildings if funding is cut.
"It'll just create more need, issues and pressures"
Alan Hopley is from Voluntary Norfolk:
"The closure of any group is heart-breaking, as they are helping people in our community. But if they don't have the funding for whatever reason, that has an impact.
"Our worry is that it'll just create more need, issues and pressures
"If local authorities are cut, it means funding is cut as the decision comes from Westminster.
"So we are often at the end of the food-chain and therefore what we can do is often less than what we want to do and less than what's needed to meet the demand.
"More people are going to be crisis"
"We want to provide all the aspects of our help that we can, and therefore when funding doesn't continue or isn't increased it means we have to spend time and energy trying to raise money to try and replace the amount lost.
"But cutting services now, it means more money is going to be needed in the future. If the prevention isn't there then more people are going to be crisis and this means more pressure on hospitals and care-homes."
