"It spreads the awareness even further"
Nikki Scott is the founder of Scotty's Little Soldiers, based in King's Lynn:
She told us how important it is to be supported by the veterans minister:
"It's always been about the need and there's a real need for this type of support for these children and young people. We have always gone along the route of, if there's a need for this- we should be doing it.
"Now to have people like Jonny Mercer involved is really helpful because it spreads the awareness even further".
What is Scotty's pledge?
"Spreading the word can help us find more people"
"There's so many children who don't know about us yet, so we've still got a lot of work to do.
"For me, the biggest thing is awareness if people can't donate- it doesn't even matter to a point- because telling people about Scotty's and spreading the word can help us find more people that want to fund raise for us.
"But actually helping us in the end lead to more families coming forwards ans receiving that support
