Norfolk campaigner: Govt. must stick to no new oil & gas licenses promise

A local environmentalist is calling on the Government to stick with it's promise to not open any new oil and gas fields.
The appeal comes after over 1,100 people in the UK died from this summer's heatwaves- which were driven by climate change.

"This Government will elected on a manifesto promise not to issue new licenses to explore oil and gas fields. However, they've announced that they will be consulting on this later this year. It's really important that they remain steadfast on this"
"Heat will increase hospitalisations and worsen chronic illnesses, which is clearly going to put more pressure on our health services.
"In addition to this, people's livelihoods and economic activities are going to be threaten. So jobs in informal services, construction, transport and tourism are going to be hit the most".
