Nearly 80% of over 80s receive first Covid-19 vaccine in East of England

Many have also had their second jab

Nearly 80% of all over 80s in the East of England have now received their first coronavirus vaccine.

According to figures from NHS England 285,970 have had the jab, working out at 79.9% of the age group.

44,791 - or 12.5% - have had both doses.

Meanwhile, 435,636 of the under 80s have received their first injection, with 8,706 having already had both doses.
