1140 emergency food parcels were handed out to children in King's Lynn and West Norfolk in the six months to September.

That's according to the Trussell Trust, which distributed 3027 parcels in total from its four centres in the area.

Spokesperson Garry Lemon said those numbers don't show the true picture;

"So many other people went out there to distribute emergency food to people, that our figures are probably only the tip of the iceberg.

"It's a big concern.

"Even one kid going hungry is too many"

The government says it's introduced a package of support to ensure families are warm and well-fed this winter.
