Writer running 62 ultramarathons in 62 days across England
Frank Wainwright is raising money for children's charities
A man running 62 ultramarathons in 62 days to raise money for youth development charities is passing through Norfolk next week.
5\4 year-old writer Frank Wainwright is aiming to cover every cathedral city in England and will be running through Attleborough on Monday before he arrives in Norwich on Tuesday.
The journey began at the beginning of July in Newcastle and will end on 31st August in Tyne Green.
Throughout his 2,000-mile journey, Frank will take in five national trails and six national parks.
He'll also enjoy the local culture, wearing a viking helmet around York, fuelling with fish and chips in Great Yarmouth and enjoying a visit to Buckingham Palace once completing his day in London.
The ethos of the Frank’s Big TOE (Tour of England) aims to encourage and support the connection between urban life and outdoor wellbeing as part of youth development and inspiring the next generation.
Frank will be fundraising for a number of charities, including the Brathay Trust – which inspires young people to make positive changes.
Frank told us: “Being in lockdown in 2020 gave me a new appreciation for England – I travelled around it whenever I could, running and making new friends, finding inspiration every step of the way.
"Throughout my past experiences, I have always championed youth and the great outdoors. I’m very positive about the next generation - given the right opportunities, they are destined to be better than us.
"The money raised and the message received will be used to hopefully build a lasting legacy – for young people growing up to make the best of the country that we live in, and to make it even better.”
