Man and woman plead guilty to shop thefts in Norwich
Pair arrested after series of thefts around the city

A man and woman have admitted to multiple shop thefts across Norwich.
Harry Smithson, 24, of no fixed address, and Kiera McCann, 20, from New Road, Lingwood, appeared at Norwich Magistrates’ Court on 29th November 2025.
Smithson pleaded guilty to nine counts of theft from a shop, while McCann admitted to five counts of theft from a shop.
The offences occurred between 30th October 2025 and 28th November 2025, including thefts at Co-op and Tesco Express locations on Hall Road, Unthank Road, Dereham Road, and Woodgrove Parade in Norwich.
Smithson was also involved in two thefts at a sports store on Riverside Retail Park, Albion Way, on 30th October and 27th November, stealing clothing with a total value exceeding £1,300.
The pair were arrested on the morning of 28th November at an address on Russell Street in Norwich following a reported shop theft earlier that day on Dereham Road.
Smithson and McCann were questioned at Wymondham Police Investigation Centre before being charged.
At court, Smithson was remanded into custody until his next appearance on 10th December 2025. McCann was released on conditional bail ahead of her next court date on 21st January 2026.
