Man charged with murder following woman's death in Shipdham

Police have charged a 39 year-old man with murder following the death of a woman in her 30s in Shipdham at the weekend.

Rafal Winiarski from Lake Close was originally arrested on Sunday (1st August) after police responded to reports of concern for safety in the same road at around 1.21pm.

Emergency services attended the scene but a woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Pending formal identification, she has been provisionally named by police as Malgortza Lechanska.

A Home Office post mortem established she died from severe head injury.

A police cordon remains in place at the property while investigations are ongoing.

Winiarski is due to appear at Norwich Magistrates Court today.

Detective Inspector Lewis Craske, said:

"We are looking for information from anyone who may have known Malgorzata or can help us with information around the circumstances leading up to her death.”
