A man has been jailed after an 'unprovoked' attack in a Wisbech nightclub which left his victim with permanent scarring.

27 year old Mark Crosby, who is also known as Mark Fisher, carried out the assault on a man in H20 on Chapel Road just after midnight on 5 October 2019.

He smashed a spirit glass over the side of his victim's face before punching him and running away.

The man needed treatment in hospital.

It's thought the attack was related to a feud in 2017 involving Crosby and the girlfriend of the victim.

Crosby, of Small Lode in Upwell, admitted to assault occasioning grievous bodily harm with intent at Peterborough Crown Court and was handed a four year prison sentence.

Detective Sergeant Darryl Purdy, of Cambridgeshire police, said: “Using a glass as a weapon, Crosby launched a completely unprovoked attack on another man who has been left with permanent scarring.

“Violence like this is completely unacceptable and we will do all we can to bring offenders who commit this type of crime to justice.”
