Man charged with assaulting and threatening to kill woman in Lowestoft

A 40 year old man has been charged with nine different offences

A Lowestoft man has been charged with nine different offences, including threatening to kill a woman in the town.

It comes after police were called to reports of a fight between a man and a woman in the Lorne Park Road area last Thursday (June 22).

The woman was allegedly pushed to the ground and then dragged.

Further assaults are said to have taken place at a home on London Road North, with previous incidents at the same location on June 15 and 16.

The suspect attempted to get away from police whne confronted and had to be take to hospital after being injured during his escape.

40 year old David Jones, of no fixed address, is accused of the following offences all in relation to the same victim:

• Making threats to kill; intentional suffocation; and criminal damage (occurring between 15 and 16 June)

• Intentional suffocation; robbery; assault causing actual bodily harm; false imprisonment; threatening a person with an offensive weapon; and criminal damage (all occurring on 22 June)

He has been remanded in custody ahead of an appearance at Norwich Magistrates Court.
