Five arrested after Loddon death told they face no further action

It's after an incident involving a group of men in Bridge Street near to the King’s Head pub on Friday 10 November at 9.30pm.

Five men arrested on suspicion of assault following an investigation into the death of a man in Loddon have been told by police that no further action will be taken against them.

The five men, all aged in their 20s, were arrested on suspicion of assault and questioned following an incident involving a group of men in Bridge Street near to the King’s Head pub on Friday 10 November at 9.30pm.

Neil McGibbon, in his 50s, suffered serious, life-threatening injuries following the incident and later died in hospital from his injuries. Following the investigation, the men face no further action. A file will be prepared for the coroner in due course.

Geoffrey Noble, 58, of Hardley Road, Chedgrave, has been charged with a common assault offence against a man in his 20s in connection with the incident and is due to appear at Norwich Magistrates Court on 10 April 2024.
