Last updated 25th Apr 2021
Following the end of lockdown communities across west Norfolk are resuming small-scale community litter picks.
The borough council are offering collection kits suitable for 6 people, to comply with the rule of 6, that consist of litter picking sticks, hi-vis vests and bin bags.
Nathan Johnson, Public Open Space Manager at the borough council, welcomes the return of the community litter picks:
"We've had enquiries from community groups and parish councils about the resumption of our support for these litter picks and we have adapted the kits to be Covid-compliant. They can only be used by a maximum of 6 people and it now includes a Covid-19 risk assessment form.
"Groups wishing to keep their areas clean and free from litter can email cleanup@west-norfolk.gov.uk to book drop off and collection of the kit as well as arrange for the picked litter to be collected."
The litter pick kits can only be used for litter picks on public land and cannot be used to collect fly-tipping.
