Footage of two East of England paramedics struggling not to laugh whilst filming a video has gone viral.

Dave Tamarro and Joe Cartwright were recording a video for International Paramedics Day but found it impossible to answer simple questions about their job without making each other laugh.

The out-takes were posted on the East of England Ambulance Service Trust's social media accounts and have racked up tens of thousands of views, as well as hundreds of positive comments praising the duo.

Mr. Tamarro and Mr. Cartwright have over 45 years of paramedic experience between them and said they were keen to celebrate the work of all ambulance staff after a tough few years.

As well as making people smile and laugh, the men have been contacted by various mental health charities who've said the video has really helped people going through a hard time.

Mr. Tamarro said, "to make people smile again, out of this very dark tunnel, I think it's brilliant."

Mr. Cartwright added, "I'm immensely proud of the whole thing."

It's also not just UK viewers the friends and colleagues have amused, as Mr. Tamarro recalls "I got a message from the Ukraine frontline saying in all of this horrible stuff that's going on, thank you for making us smile."

The pair are using their viral fame as an opportunity to draw attention to Mr. Cartwright's plan to cross the English Channel on a paddleboard to raise money for the suicide prevention charity, OLLIE.
