King's Lynn is opening it's doors like never before on Open Heritage Day 2021.

There'll be over fifty buildings, events or displays for people to enjoy free of charge.

These include:

• A wide range of historic buildings including Clifton House, Custom House, Red Mount Chapel, Bank House, St John’s House, St Nicholas Chapel.

• Vintage buses touring the town. Free to hop on and hop off.

• Outdoor spaces – the Walks (including Fenland Falcons, Knights of Skirbeck, the Sealed Knot), Hardwick Road Cemetery, the Jewish Cemetery.

• Market of local producers on Saturday Market Place.

• Morris dancers, Baroque dancers, Shantymen, Schrodinger’s Strings, FLUKES (Fenland Ukuleles).

• Tours and walks: the Minster, All Saints, St Peter’s West Lynn, Wenns Chop & Ale House, guided walks with Town Guides.

This has all been put together thanks to King’s Lynn Civic Society working together with the Borough Council of King’s Lynn and West Norfolk, the Red Badge Town Guides.

Kim Leonard from the King's Lynn Civic Society says "people who own private historic houses have kindly open their doors, business support us and National Trust who run the heritage days nationally have been great"

Mr Leonard told us "we all need something to celebrate, we didn't have the open day last year because of the Covid situation. But now that people are getting about a bit more we need to celebrate that and the fact that we've got a fantastic town with fantastic buildings."

He also told us that there's "so much going on and lots for everyone". He hopes this will all result in a great atmosphere.
