The flag over King's Lynn Town Hall will remain at half mast until Prince Philip's funeral next Saturday (17 April).

The Borough Council of King's Lynn and West Norfolk has sent condolences to Her Majesty The Queen following the Duke of Edinburgh's death on Friday (9 April).

In a statement, Buckingham Palace said Prince Philip passed away peacefully at Windsor Castle, where he had been spending lockdown with The Queen.

The Duke had retired from public duties in 2017 and since then, had spent much of his time at Sandringham, until the pandemic hit last year.

The Mayor of West Norfolk and King's Lynn, Geoff Hipperson has said he will be writing to Her Majesty on behalf of the Borough.
