King's Lynn Stars have announced the signing of Danish rider Frederik Jakobsen for the remainder of the season.

The 24 year old is being brought in as a replacement for Lewis Kerr, who departed last week.

He's returning to the UK to race after a spell with Poole Pirates in 2018. He has performed well this season in top-tier speedway in Poland.

Speaking to the Stars website, manager Alex Brady said: “Our season really has to kick into gear on Monday, we can’t afford any slip-ups from here on in.

“Frederik was keen to join us and we’re delighted to get the deal over the line with still a decent number of meetings remaining.

“It means we have an Ekstraliga rider coming in at reserve with the potential for me to give him seven rides, and that gives us a good opportunity.

“I didn’t want the season to just meander on, I want to give us the best chance to try and break into those play-offs.

“We know it’s going to be a big ask and we know we’re going to need near-on perfect results to get there, but I certainly didn’t want to die wondering!”
