Work begins on new diagnostics centre at the James Paget
It's part of efforts to tackle long waiting lists
A ceremony's been held to mark the start of work on a new diagnostics centre at the James Paget Hospital.
It's one of three set to be built across Norfolk thanks to £85m in investment from the Department of Health and Social Care.
The James Paget’s Diagnostic Centre will feature a new MRI and CT scanner, additional Ultrasound imaging equipment and an X-ray room.
These are used for diagnosis and monitoring of a wide range of conditions, including cancer, heart disease, stroke, respiratory diseases, trauma, musculoskeletal diseases, and neurological conditions.
It's part of efforts to tackle waiting lists and enable the earlier diagnosis of serious conditions.
