Human bones found in Wisbech lead to police investigation

An investigation has been launched after partial human remains were discovered on Walton Highway in Wisbech on Sunday morning.
Police were called to Walton Highway at 8.30am on Sunday 18 May following reports from a member of the public who found what appeared to be partial human bones.
Officers have set up a cordon around the area while they carry out their enquiries. Detective Inspector Emma Carter, who is leading the investigation, said: “We are treating this discovery with the utmost seriousness and are working to establish the identity of the remains and the circumstances surrounding their presence.”
She added: “We ask anyone who has information or who was in the area around Walton Highway on or before Sunday morning to come forward and contact us.”
At this stage, police have not released further details, and enquiries remain ongoing.
