Rail operator Greater Anglia has announced that they will be running a further reduced timetable from Tuesday 4th January.

A number of services, including some trains to London from Norwich, Ipswich and Colchester are among those that have been axed.

"We've reduced our timetable as a result of falling passenger numbers as people continue to follow Government advice to work from home and also as we began seeing some effects of the Omicron variant of Covid-19 on staffing levels", explains Juliette Maxam, from Greater Anglia

A full list of trains that will no longer be running is available on their website.

Ms Maxam goes on to add, " We are still running a majority of our services but we decided it's better to be cautious and cancel the services now rather than doing it on short-notice."

The changed timetable will be operational between Tuesday 4th January and Friday 7th January after which a decision will be taken again.

"We apologise for any inconvenience this causes to our customers. It's a temporary measure and we will keep people updated about any further changes to our timetable."

Anyone who has purchased a ticket for a service that is no longer running can catch either the train before or after the service that has been cancelled.
