A man's been sentenced after pleading guilty to possessing weapons in a Great Yarmouth bar in 2022.

Police were called to a bar in King Street, Great Yarmouth on the evening of 20 December 2022 to reports that a man in the rear beer garden of the premises was threatening people with a knife.

After arriving at the scene, officers searched a man, uncovering what appeared to be a pistol in the waist band of his clothes - later confirmed to be an unloaded, imitation air pistol.

A knife was also found on the floor nearby.

The suspect was arrested at the scene and taken to Great Yarmouth Police Station for questioning.

During a later search of the suspect’s home address, police uncovered a number of large swords, a zombie knife, and military paraphernalia.

58 year old Dale Henderson, of Abyssinia Road, Great Yarmouth, was subsequently charged with possession of an imitation firearm, and possession of an offensive weapon (a knife).

He appeared at Great Yarmouth Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 5 July 2023 where he pleaded guilty to the two charges.

He appeared again at Great Yarmouth Magistrates’ Court for sentencing last week (23 February 2024) where he was ordered to:

Complete 80 hours of unpaid work

Attend rehabilitation

Pay a total of £259 in court and victim charges
