A Great Yarmouth man has been jailed for five years after admitting to burglary, theft and fraud.

Craig Clucas, 39 and of no fixed address, admitted to three counts of burlgary, two counts of fraud by false representation and two counts of theft at Norwich Crown Court on November 30.

It comes after three break-ins at properties in Yarmouth between August 2021 and September 2022.

During the incidents Clucas took jewellery and electric intems, as well as bank cards - which he used to try to withdraw cash.

Clucus had three previous offences taken into account by Norfolk Police's Operation Converter team, which encourages suspects to admit previous criminality so they can serve time and be released with a 'clean sheet'.

Police staff Supervisor Duncan Etchells, from the newly created Operation Converter, TIC (Taken Into Consideration) Unit, said:

“This sentence reflects the hard work of both the officers in Great Yarmouth who secured the initial charges and the Operation Converter team who secured Clucas’s TIC admissions.

“It means we are able to give closure and reassurance to all the victims in this case, and whilst he’s in prison, Clucas is unable to reoffend.”
