Giant tortoise rescued from railway tracks near Thetford
'Clyde' is set to return home after wandering out onto the tracks
A 50kg giant African spurred tortoise has been rescued from railway tracks near Thetford.
'Clyde' was located near to the Harling Road station by workers at Network Rail. It's thought he'd walked between 400 and 600 metres from his home.
He'd been clipped by a train, suffering damage to his shell, but is now said to be recovering.
It's thought Clyde escaped from a nearby centre in East Harling which owned giant tortoises.
