A gas leak in Wroxham has been capped off and the road reopened following a crash yesterday.

Police were called at around 3pm on Tuesday 26th April to the social club on Norwich Road to reports of a crash.

A car had hit the Wroxham Social Club which had caused a gas leak.

Nearby residents were asked to stay at home with their windows and doors closed.

No homes were evacuated though.

Norwich Road was closed between its junctions with The Avenue and Church Lane at one end, and its junction with Station Road at the other end for a number of hours.

There were no reports of any injuries.

Police have thanked residents for their patience and understanding while they dealt with the situation.
