Breckland Council is offering free training to business-owners to help them advertise and sell their products online. It is a move by the council to support local high street traders in retail and hospitality adapt to a digital world and adopt platforms to reach customers.

The Digital Breckland programme offers businesses free 121 digital consultation and online training. The support will help independent local businesses to improve their digital skills and promote their services online. This will include developing their online communications, e-commerce and data management.

Grants of up to £1500 will also be available to support businesses to embrace and enhance their digital services. This could include a website upgrade, social media development and advertisement, online booking systems, electric point of sales, contactless payments and cyber security.

Cllr Mark Robinson, Executive Member for Community, Leisure & Culture, commented:

"This is a great opportunity for local businesses to embrace digital opportunities. Whether it is reaching a wider customer base, accepting orders and taking payments online, or improving an existing web presence, I urge Breckland retail and leisure businesses to get in touch with us to take advantage of the training courses and grants on offer to help their business grow in 2021."
