Fourth arrest over incident outside Carrow Road last month
It's after a man reported being punched and suffered a cut to his chin
A man aged in his 60s has been arrested following an incident outside Norwich City Football Club’s stadium last month.
He was arrested in Dorset on Friday (31 May 2024) on suspicion of affray and interviewed by officers. He has been released on bail until 13 August 2024.
It follows an incident outside NCFC’s stadium in Carrow Road at around 2pm on Sunday 12 May 2024 when a man reported being punched and suffered a cut to his chin thought to be caused by a drinks’ can being thrown at him. He was seen by paramedics at the scene and did not require further medical treatment.
Friday’s arrest is the fourth arrest in connection with this incident.
A man aged in his late teens was arrested outside the stadium in Carrow Road on 12 May on suspicion of assault GBH and taken to Wymondham Police Investigation Centre for questioning. He was released on bail until 13 July 2024.
A man aged in 50s was also arrested outside the stadium in Carrow Road on 12 May on suspicion of assaulting an emergency worker and taken to Wymondham Police Investigation Centre for questioning.
Graham Riches, aged 50, of Dyer Close, Horsford, Norwich, has subsequently been charged with assaulting an emergency worker, common assault, and possession of Class A drugs. He has been released on bail to appear at Norwich Magistrates’ Court on 7 June 2024.
A man in his late teens was arrested on 13 May 2024 on suspicion of assault and a public order offence in connection with the incident. He was taken to Aylsham Police Investigation Centre for questioning and was released on bail until 13 August 2024.
