A flood alert has been issued for parts of Norfolk.

According to the Environment Agency, flooding is possible for The River Bure, Spixworth Beck, and surrounding Becks.

The agency is now issuing advice including:

  • Monitor local water levels and conditions
  • Keep staff and customers informed
  • Prepare to act on business flood plans, if they exist
  • Move cars and other vehicles to higher ground if it's safe to do so
  • Check you know how to turn off gas, electricity, and water supplies
  • Consider moving livestock and equipment in areas likely to flood
  • Avoid walking, cycling, or driving through flood water. 30cm of fast-flowing water can move a car and almost half of that can knock an adult over
  • Wash hands thoroughly if in contact with flood water as it may be polluted
