Fire devastates church in Norfolk village

Investigations are ongoing into the cause of a fire which has devastated a church in a Norfolk village.
Flames broke out at around 10:45am yesterday morning at St Mary's in Beachamwell, near Swaffham.
At the peak of the blaze 11 fire engines were at the scene.
The Grade I listed building dates back almost 1000 years and features a rare octagonal tower, which appears to have survived the flames. The thatched roof has been destroyed.
The church has been the centre of village life for many years, hosting weddings, funerals and christenings as well as services.
Villages have told us the roof was undergoing repairs after a recent lead theft.
Church leaders in the area have told us there are plans in place and support available for those who need it.
Dr Ian Mack, is the Assistant Curate of the church: "So many people have loved ones who've been married in this church, been baptised in this church, had their funeral services in this church.
"It's such a loss, deep in the hear of the village here."
Terry Pinto is from Norfolk Fire and Rescue.
He told us the events could be a wake up call for many: "Please just review your fire risk assessment.
"Have a look and make sure you're doing all you can to reduce the risk of fire in your buildings.
"And also consider a salvage plan, so consider if the worst were to happen, what are the things are most dear, what are the things that are irreplaceable that you would like fire and rescue to focus on to retrieve from the building."
Foreign Secretary and South West Norfolk MP, Liz Truss, has said on Twitter she'll do all she can to help with the restoration of the church.
