Fatal collision in Rougham prompts police appeal

Police are asking for witnesses and dashcam footage following a crash on Lynn Road that resulted in one death and a woman arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving

Police are asking for witnesses and dashcam footage following a crash on Lynn Road that resulted in the death of a woman in her 50s.

The collision happened at around 3.15pm on Monday 19 May 2025 on the B1145 Lynn Road.

A black Nissan X-Trail and a black Ford Fiesta collided, leading to the road being closed until the evening while emergency services attended.

The driver of the Ford Fiesta, a woman in her 50s, was taken to hospital but sadly died the following day, Tuesday 20 May 2025, from her injuries. The driver of the Nissan X-Trail was also taken to hospital for treatment.

A woman in her 50s has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and driving with excess alcohol. She has been released on police bail and is due to appear in court on 18 August 2025.

Norfolk Police said: “We would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or has dashcam footage that could help with the investigation.”
