The East of England Ambulance service is urging people to only dial 999 in an absolute emergency, with the entire service under 'extreme pressure'

Bosses EEAST say many ambulance crews are facing delays outside of hopsitals, as local NHS service struggle to find space for new patients.

They've also been seeing high call volumes over the past few days.

In a statement, the East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust said:

"To help us respond effectively we have increased our escalation state across the Trust."

"We urge the public to please support us by using our services wisely and only calling for life-threatening illnesses and injuries."
