The Eat Out to Help Out scheme is being hailed a success in King's Lynn.

The scheme, which ended yesterday, offered discounts on meals during the first half of the week, to encourage us to get spending.

Councillor Graham Middleton thinks it really boosted restaurants and pubs

He said:

"It's been fantastic. I've spoken to some hoteliers in the town and I think it's been great. What it's done is it's brought people out in the time of the week when they wouldn't see the custom.

"What pubs owners, bar owners and restaurant owners have been telling me is it has brought a lot of people out on Monday, Tuesdays and Wednesdays and they're still seeing the same numbers they would have expected to see at these times on the weekends."
