Dozens in hospital with Covid-19 in King's Lynn
There were 63 at the QEH last Tuesday (8 December)
The Queen Elizabeth Hospital in King's Lynn was caring for 63 coronavirus patients in hospital as of Tuesday (8 December), NHS England figures show.
The data shows that the number of people being treated in hospital for Covid-19 by 8am was up from 42 on the same day the previous week.
The number of beds at the QEH occupied by people who tested positive for Covid-19 more than doubled in the last four weeks - 28 days ago, there were 30.
Across England there were 13,629 people in hospital with Covid as of 8 December, with 1,118 of them in mechanical ventilation beds.
The number of Covid-19 patients hospitalised has increased by 13%, while those on mechanical ventilators has increased by 11%, in the last four weeks across England.
The figures also show that 36 new Covid patients were admitted to hospital in The Queen Elizabeth Hospital, King's Lynn, NHS Foundation Trust in the week to 6 December. This was up from 24 in the previous seven days.
